Paul Meyer

In May, 1969 Sgt Paul Meyer, a C-130 maintenance man based at Langley AFB, Virginia with the 316th Tactical Airlift Wing, stole the C-130E to which he was assigned and took off. The airplane crashed in the English Channel off of the coast of France. Rumors abounded, including that he had been shot down by US Air Force (RAF, French or whoever) fighters. Other rumors were that his body, or part of it, washed up on the coast (none of his remains were ever found.) The following pages are the actual incident report compiled by the United States Air Force.
